Working Group on Farm Health Planning

The Working Group on farm health planning has been established to facilitate a close working relationship between government, the farming industry and within the farming industry itself. This working Group is made up of interested parties and independent experts from across the livestock industry; it also provides a mechanism by which your view can be represented.

The members of the Working Group are listed here. Some will be familiar and may be organisations you belong to or support. By working in partnership the Working Group will develop some of the initiatives under the Positive Animal Health Action Plan, which include:

  • Review current practices in disease prevention and promote good practice in all livestock sectors.

  • Develop an understanding of the costs and benefits of animal disease and its control to promote farm health planning.

  • Facilitate the delivery of relevant research to help further develop good and best practice in disease prevention and control.

  • Review training and advice schemes and encourage continued professional development in farming sectors.

The Working Group has also established by Terms of Reference Adobe acrobat pdf file (20 KB) its key aims and ways of working in partnership so a common understanding and workable agreement regarding the concept of farm health planning can be achieved.
