Farming: Whole Farm Approach - Future developments
The Whole Farm Approach is being developed over several years. The current release schedule and content for 2008 is as follows:
- May – improved and enhanced June Agriculture and Horticulture Survey
- June – updated Cross Compliance questionnaire and guidance
- June – decoupling of Waste questionnaire from Baseline questionnaire
- November – December Agriculture Survey
- November – new Cross Compliance self-assessment tool
- November – WFA ‘agent’ access for farm secretaries and other farm business administrators
Longer term
The Whole Farm Approach expects to deliver the key transactions for farmers including providing electronic SPS applications and Environmental Stewardship schemes, as well as providing geographic data through a mapping facility. Initial work is already underway to develop these. The current development schedule includes provisions in early 2009 for an electronic SPS trial, ELS advice and guidance and a link to ELS Online via WFA.
Also scheduled for 2009 is improved access to CTS Online for WFA Users.
