Single Payment Scheme: How is the Single Payment Scheme evolving?
The Single Payment Scheme has already evolved since it began in 2005. Changes have been made to improve the way the scheme works or as a result of more far-reaching reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which have taken place.

In addition, a brochure titled ‘SPS Information for farmers and growers in England, November 2007’ has been sent out to all SPS applicants. This brochure includes information on a number of recent and proposed changes to EU legislation governing the SPS and related schemes, including:
- Set-aside rate for 2008
- Fruit and vegetable reform
- 10-month rule; and
- Aid for Energy crops.
