Developing a Strategy for Sustainable Farming and Food
The Government launched its Strategy for Sustainable Farming and Food: Facing the Future in England on 12 December 2002.
The strategy builds on the invaluable work conducted by the Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food. It sets out how industry, Government and consumers can work together to secure a sustainable future for our farming and food industries, as viable industries contributing to a better environment and healthy and prosperous communities.
The strategy was accompanied by an Economic and Statistical Analysis of Farming and Food's Contribution to Sustainable Development and by the Government's Response to the Report of the Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food.
