Consultation Process
Consultation on this report will remain open until 31 October 2006 to take account of the summer break.
Following on from the consultation the Government intends to publish its proposals on how sharing responsibilities and costs can be taken forward by the end of the year. The proposals, which will be considered alongside the wider debate on animal health charging, will be consulted on in the usual way. The Government is planning to publish a draft Bill in the Spring next year for pre-legislative scrutiny and introduction in the Parliamentary Session for 2007/08. We expect that the livestock industry will be fully involved at all these stages.
