This is a quarterly run survey and covers holdings with the cereals wheat, barley or oats at the previous June Survey. The results show areas, estimated yield and production at regional level. This is a quarterly run sample survey of wheat and barley stocks grown on holdings. This was last run in 2000 by MAFF when it was an annual sample survey showing area, production and yield for the previous year's harvest of peas and field beans. Earnings and Hours of Agricultural and Horticultural Workers This is a quarterly run sample telephone survey and provides estimates of the average weekly earnings and hours of hired workers by type of worker within Agriculture and Horticulture. This covers holdings growing top fruit. Information is collected on a tree area basis from a sample of holdings with commercial orchards on the previous June Survey. This is a Annually run survey. The area, production and yield of oilseed rape is estimated from this annual survey based on a sample of holdings which returned an area of oilseed rape at the previous June Survey. Annual Survey of Tenanted Land This is a Bi-ennial survey (now re-named Tenanted Land Survey) latest is 2004. Results are obtained from a sample of holdings. The survey collects information on agreement rents for both the current and the previous year. The purpose is to monitor agricultural rents and the effect of the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995 on farming. Data is only published at national level. This was a one off survey done by MAFF in 1998 and was sent to holdings recording 50 or more farmed deer on their most recent June Survey form. The information is used to establish an accurate picture of the deer farming industry and to help promote and market venison. This is a annually run survey giving annual estimates of area, production and yield from the harvest of minor cereals (mixed corn, rye and triticale) and linseed. |
