I am part way through an e-FEP using the old Adobe Acrobat form / Excel spreadsheet and have heard that a new version has been released. Can I still complete and submit this form?
Yes. Whenever a new version of either the Excel or Adobe parts of the eFEP, then the Natural England computer system is configured to allow earlier versions of the form continue to be accepted for a a few months after the new release. If more than a few months have elapsed, please call your Natural England contact to check whether the version you have used is still valid.
Can the Excel environmental features datasheet be downloaded and completed on a PDA?
No. It has been designed to work on a PC / laptop and is not supported on a PDA.
The Excel environmental datasheet will not download: there is a message saying it is password protected.
The Excel environmental features datasheet component of the e-FEP has been designed and is supported for use on a PC. Users should not have any difficulty downloading this file to a PC. However, this error is likely to arise if the user is trying to download the document to a PDA. This document has not been designed nor is it supported for use on a PDA.
Is it possible to create my own version of the Excel spreadsheet to submit with the Adobe form?
No. We have had to apply tight controls to the use of eFEP templates in order to protect the underlying process. There are a number of macros embedded within the spreadsheet and these are integral, not just to the way in which the data is displayed visually, but also to the subsequent processes which take place to upload the information into the Natural England computer. The version we use has to be one that we have developed as one that is fully tested with that in mind.
Will there be any further development / changes to the eFEP?
We had been hoping to further develop the current eFEP spreadsheet to improve usability and reduce the time taken by FEP agents to complete the entire eFEP (i.e. the Excel spreadsheet and PDF document combined). However, at the current time we are constrained by the priorities for wider IT system development.
