ELS Online - downloads and supporting information

From this page you can download the ELS Online software application and associated forms. If you have not already informed Natural England that you wish to use the ELS Online system, you should do so now; email els.online@naturalengland.org.uk or telephone 01905 362700/ 01905 362709. Natural England will then send you the necessary information to allow you to use the ELS Online software application.

Please Note: Unfortunately due to changes to the Environmental Scheme, LFA Land is no longer available for download using the ELS Online Software. If you have an application which is believed to contain LFA, you will need to contact your local region and request a paper application.

Management Plans are no longer a valid Option under ES, although you may find references to them in the ELS Online Software. They should not be selected as an Option to go towards your points total. Further details are available: Environmental Stewardship scheme changes.

You will need to save the ELS Online software application on your PC.

The minimum specification of your PC should be:

  • Windows 98, 2000, NT or XP
  • Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape 3.0 or above
  • Pentium II or faster processor
  • 256MB memory
  • 100MB free hard disk space
  • Internet access (ELS Online will work with ‘dial-up’ internet access, but this can be very slow – the software application will work much better if you are connected via broadband)
  • Apple Macintosh computers are not supported

Forms

Some applicants will also require additional forms that need to be printed, completed by hand, signed and posted to the Natural England Office at Worcester – to accompany the ELS Online electronic application. For details of any forms you will require, please see the ELS handbook.

Important Information: Paper Agent Authorisation Forms are no longer required for Online Applications. We however still need to capture some details about the actual land owner via a details form (below) which can be e-mailed to us.
