New technologies: The supporter programme

Member and technical briefing sessions

The member and technical briefing sessions are delivered on behalf of Defra by independent waste specialists who provide impartial information to increase the knowledge and understanding of new and emerging technologies for the diversion of biodegradable municipal waste from landfill.

The content of each briefing is tailored to the individual needs of each authority, for example whether the audience are members, technical officers or both. We would also encourage the presence of planners and finance officers and members, and can tailor the briefing accordingly.

At the end of 2005 the supporter programme has carried out briefing sessions to over 30 authorities in England and these have varied from an overview of the new technologies, the implications of each option and why we need to divert BMW from landfill to a detailed technical briefing on the specific technologies.

To register your interest in receiving a free briefing session, please email the helpline on wastetech@enviros.com outlining your authority’s current position and requirements for a briefing.

If you would like to discuss your requirements further please contact the helpline on 0870 240 9894 where a member of the supporter team will be happy to assist.
