Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund in England

Future of the Fund 2008-2011

The Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund is reviewed every three years as part of the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review

Defra and HM Treasury carried out a policy review of the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund during 2006 to feed into the 2007 Comprehensive Spending Review.  The outcome of the 2007 Comprehensive Spending Review was that Defra and Treasury Ministers decided that the fund should continue from April 2008 to March 2011.

As part of the evidence for the policy review London Economics produced a Study to inform the policy review of the ALSF. The study examined the extent to which the Fund has met its objectives so far, whether it should continue and if so, what activities it should fund from 2007 onwards.
