Municipal Waste Arisings: 1996/97 - 2005/06

In 2005/06 in the UK there was 35.1 million tonnes of municipal waste, falling from 36.1 million tonnes in 2004/05. The municipal waste recycling and composting rate has grown from 6 per cent (1.9 million tonnes) in 1996/97 to 27 per cent (9.4 million tonnes) in 2005/06.
