The Environment in your Pocket
2006 readership survey
A survey of The Environment in your Pocket (EIYP) readers was conducted through the 2006 edition. A questionnaire was included with each copy of the booklet. Two slightly different questionnaires were sent out: one directly to educational establishments and one to all other readers. A copy of each questionnaire can be download as PDF from the following links:

Thank you to everyone who took the time completing and returning a questionnaire. We received just over 950 responses. The results were very useful in helping us understand more about the people who use the booklet, and how they use it.
Some selected results from the survey are that:
- Two-thirds of people who responded to the survey use EIYP for work or study, 1 in 10 have it for personal use and 1 in 5 use it for both;
- Around 8 out of every 10 people said that the booklet was very or fairly useful;
- Around 9 out of every 10 people said that the booklet was at about the right level for them;
- The topic of most interest is climate change, followed by pressures on the environment and waste and recycling;
- Over 4 in 10 of respondents said that they would also like to see the information from EIYP presented in an interactive website, a third said that they would like it on a poster and almost 3 in 10 said that they would like it on a CD-ROM.
The full results of the survey, including a summary report, will be published shortly.
Our aim is to produce user-friendly, useful and relevant presentations, building on this and other feedback we have received from readers of previous editions. We always welcome comments from all our readers.
