The Environment in your Pocket 2007

Introduction

Published on 9th November 2007

The Environment in your pocket 2007 is the eleventh and latest edition of our key facts booklet.

The Environment in your pocket is a handy, free of charge, pocket-sized distillation of around 60 key series largely from the e-Digest of Environmental Statistics website. Through it we aim to make environmental statistics accessible to wider and different audiences.

This year we have included a section presenting some results of Defra’s Survey of Public Attitudes and Behaviours toward the Environment 2007, and also include a section highlighting various pressures on the environment.

The booklet also draws upon the UK Government Sustainable Development Strategy indicators. The full set of indicators has been published in 'Sustainable indicators in your pocket 2007' and on the internet. Details from the Sustainable Development web site.

Some of the content is revised and made available as part of the e-Digest website. If you have found this booklet to be useful, please feel free to tell your friends or colleagues about it - extra copies are easy to obtain and we should very much like to enlarge the circle of readership.
