Walker Review of Charging and Metering for Water and Sewerage services
29 June 2009 - Interim report of Walker Review of Charging published - Defra Ministers and Welsh Ministers welcome the publication of the interim report of the independent Review of Charging for Household Water and Sewerage services. We are very grateful for the work that Anna Walker and her team have undertaken to date, including gathering evidence and listening to customers and others. She has raised important questions about the fairness of current charges, and we look forward to publication of the final report in the autumn. We will respond to the Review’s recommendations in full when the final report is published.

Ofwat Water charging and price review
This sets price limits for water and sewerage companies in England and Wales for the five years from April 2010. Defra’s contribution to the Price Review includes a Statement of Obligations to water and sewerage undertakers and Social and Environmental Guidance to Ofwat.
Regulation and sponsorship of the water industry
Customer research report as part of Ofwat's PR09 process
Eight stakeholders representing customers, regulators, water and sewerage companies and government publish the report, 'Understanding customers' views - PR09 Quantitative Research into Customers' Priorities'.
The report explores bill payers' views of draft plans for water and sewerage services in England and Wales. This is part of the Ofwat 2009 price review covering the period 2010-15.
