Water, air, other environment quality issues

We have grouped together a number of areas where we act to protect environmental quality from pollution – including:
- water quality, water resources and our role in protecting water supplies and regulating the water industry
- protecting air quality, including ozone and fluorinated greenhouse gases
- land and soil – including contaminated land
- local environmental quality – including litter and flytipping – and noise and nuisance
- chemicals, pesticides and nanotechology
- overarching systems for regulating industrial pollution and for environmental permitting
