Appeals
There is a procedure in place which allows operators of installations regulated under the Environmental Permitting Regulations to appeal to the Secretary of State a decision, or decisions, made by the regulator. Further information can be found on the Planning Inspectorate website and, as regards LAPPC and LA-IPPC, chapter 30 of the General Guidance Manual.

Regulation 33 under the EP Regulations provides for directions which can transfer the regulatory duties from the Environment Agency to the relevant local authority or vice versa.
