Noise from Pubs and Clubs: Phase 2
This is the final report from BRE and Capita Symonds which was let by Defra with the objective being to provide recommendations for a methodology for the assessment of entertainment noise at night from pubs and clubs for the purposes of the Noise Act 1996.
Amendments made under section 84 and Schedule 1 of the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 to the Noise Act 1996 to apply it to licensed premises will be commenced in October 2006.
The recommendations and the views expressed in this report are the author’s own and not necessarily those of Defra. Draft directions on a permitted level for licensed premises will be published for consultation by Defra later in 2006.
