Chewing gum - action group

About the Chewing Gum Action Group

The Chewing Gum Action Group is chaired by Defra and brings together gum manufacturers, the Local Government Association, the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, Encams (which runs the ‘Keep Britain Tidy Campaign’) and other relevant interests. Established in 2003, the Action Group aims to change the attitudes of people that drop gum and to promote positive behaviour and correct disposal.

Disposal behaviors

The Chewing Gum Action Group has commissioned research to find out more about people that drop gum and to ensure that campaigns are as effective as possible.
