The Chewing Gum Action Group is running awareness campaigns on chewing gum litter to increase awareness of inappropriate behaviour and to promote a responsible attitude amongst gum droppers. Successful applicants will receive paid-for outdoor advertising in their campaign areas.

Campaign aims

  • encourage positive behaviour change
  • reduce the amount of used chewing gum that is dropped as litter (in 2007 the campaign areas saw an overall reduction of 58 per cent with some reporting reductions of well over 80 per cent)

Who is eligible?

Local authorities can apply to take part in this year’s chewing gum litter awareness campaigns.

Deadline?

Applications should be received by Monday, 7 April 2008.
