Local environment quality: Legislation and enforcement

Commencement of Part 6 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003

The measures in Part 6 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003 are designed to give local authorities greater powers for dealing with local environmental quality issues in their locality. Measures deal with Noise, fly tipping, littering, graffiti and fly posting.

The guidance note below contains the new procedures for local authorities for the use of powers under Part 6 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003. The measures covered by this guidance do not place any new duties on authorities but give them the flexibility to take action to deal with local issues.
