Ref EPG 1/5/217

Synopsis

The scientific objectives of this project were

  • to evaluate risk to meso- and micro-fauna from root expression
  • laboratory-based definition of the impact of GM plants on soil fauna
  • to quantify the impact of GM plants on soil fauna in the field
  • to quantify the impact of GM plants on micro-organisms
  • to determine safe expression levels in plants and the rhizosphere during cropping and post-harvest.

Start and completion dates

Project started January 2001; completed December 2003.
