The Environment Agency - Defra Sponsorship
MANAGEMENT STATEMENT ISSUED TO THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY
This Management Statement sets out the framework of the Agency's accountability and its relationship with central Government and the National Assembly for Wales. It describes the role of Ministers and the sponsor departments, as well as setting out the Agency's status and role and other guidance relevant to the exercise of its functions.
This document revises and replaces the Management Statement issued in 1996. We have developed it, in consultation with the Agency, in the light of the recently completed Financial Management and Policy Review (FMPR). Together with revised statutory guidance to the Agency, which is planned to issue later this year, and the Agency's Financial Memorandum, which is also being revised, the Management Statement sets the strategic framework for the Agency for the next five years.
