Action in the UK - Individual and community action
Citizens Summit
The ACT ON CO2 campaign aims to improve literacy among the general public about climate change. Defra held a Citizens Summit in London on 12 May 2007 to provide 150 members of the public the opportunity to discuss climate change with senior government and industry figures. The Summit discussed two main issues – How can government, business, the workforce and citizens work together effectively to encourage us all, as individuals to make personal behaviour changes and should there be legally binding targets for Government to ensure that the UK reduces CO2 emissions?
