The Carbon Trust
The Carbon Trust helps businesses to save money through cutting their energy use. It also provides support for research and development into low carbon technology.
It delivers independent information and impartial advice on energy saving and carbon management to business and the public sector.

Transport Energy
Transport Energy provides information, advice and money to employers on adopting cleaner vehicles and developing travel plans.

Enhanced Capital Allowances
Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) enable a business to claim 100% first-year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant and machinery. There are three schemes for ECAs:
- Energy-saving plant and machinery
- Low carbon dioxide emission cars and natural gas and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure
- Water conservation plant and machinery
Defra issued revised lists of criteria and products eligible for Enhanced Capital Allowances on 16 July 2008, and these took effect on 11 August.

Climate Change Projects Office
The Climate Change Projects Office is a one-stop shop providing information on climate friendly business opportunities available through the Kyoto Mechanisms. It offers practical advice and support to business interested in developing Joint Implementation and Clean Development Mechanism emission reduction projects. Carbon credits from these projects can count towards the UK's 12.5% emissions reduction target under the Kyoto Protocol. The Office can also identify contacts in relevant Government departments. UK Designated National Authority
