In June 2007 the Government launched a consultation on the implementation proposals for the Carbon Reduction Commitment in order to secure the required emissions reductions.

Energy White Paper
The commitment to implement CRC was announced in the 2007 Energy White Paper, following consultation on measures to best secure cost-effective carbon savings from large non-energy intensive business and public sector organisations.
Definition of a CRC organisation

This report builds on the work concerning the definition of a CRC organisation. Specifically it focuses on how to assign responsibility for emissions and how particular public and private sector organisation structures should be included in CRC.
Feasibility of implementation

Non-CO2 gases

Analysis to consider the potential inclusion of non-CO2 gases as part of the CRC highlighted a number of difficulties in terms of incorporating non-CO2 gases.
