Adapting to Climate Change Programme
The Government's Adapting to Climate Change Programme is:
- a cross-Government programme
- co-ordinated by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)
- about adapting to climate change in England.
The programme brings together the work already being led by Government and the wider public sector on adapting to climate change. It will co-ordinate and drive forward the development of the Government's work on adaptation in the future.
Government departments will be producing Adaptation Plans by Spring 2010, setting out how they are assessing and managing the risks from climate change
In July 2008 the Government published "Adapting to Climate Change in England: a framework for action" (PDF 2.75MB), which summarised the Government's Programme. To order a printed copy of the document email: adaptation@defra.gsi.gov.uk
