F gases and ODS - Approach to Biggest Emitters
A report written on behalf of Defra and Lacors undertaken in Autumn 2007 identifies the key UK end-user markets affected by the EC F gas and ODS Regulations and defines the relative importance of these markets in terms of proportions of total emissions.
This report estimates emissions from different market sectors and identifies some of the Top 200 organizations that are the largest F gas emitters.
One of the main tasks for F-Gas Support is to approach the largest potential emitters of F gases to engage them in the process of gaining better containment of these greenhouse gases. A standard Compliance Assistance Agreement has been developed that will be used as the basis for developing individual agreements. Most companies do not need to sign an agreement, they just need to get on with the business of complying with this legislation, and the Information Sheets are here to help this process.
For those that are approached to sign a Compliance Assistance Agreement it is simply a statement by your organization of your understanding and response to these Regulations. It is owned by you and its purpose is to make a statement of your commitment to comply with the regulation, it details actions that will be taken and demonstrates top level support for the effort needed to make your organization compliant.
This information is managed by F-Gas Support, a Government funded team set up to provide guidance for manufacturers, operators, contractors and others that make, sell or handle F gases and ODS and associated equipment. We also help regulators promote compliance with these important environmental Regulations.
