VLA provides a wide range of applied research and consultancy, diagnosis and surveillance on farm animal diseases to Government, the livestock health industry and private sector.
We are a National and International Reference Laboratory for a wide range of farm animal diseases and have close international links with research institutes and universities.

VLA's Annual Report & Accounts
VLA's Annual Report & Accounts 2007/08 were laid before Parliament on 2 July.
The Accounts are published as a House of Commons paper
(HC 649) and can be ordered from The Stationery Office (TSO), priced at £13.90.
Bluetongue PCR testing
The PCR test for bluetongue is now available from VLA. The ELISA test can still be requested.
