The Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995 came into operation on 1 September 1995. It differs in several important respects from previous agricultural holdings legislation. This booklet is intended to give a general guide to the main provisions of the Act. It is in no way a substitute for professional advice given in the light of personal circumstances. You are strongly advised not to enter any firm agreement for a farm business tenancy without taking such professional advice.
