Audit and Risk Committee

The Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) is a sub-committee of the Management Board. The purpose of the ARC is to provide independent advice and assurance on risk, control and governance matters to the Permanent Secretary (as Accounting Officer) and the Management Board.

Members of the Committee attend in a personal capacity to provide a corporate perspective to the Committee's work. As a consequence, attendance by substitutes is not normally acceptable.

Committee Secretary

Andrew Dodds is the Committee Secretary, and is responsible for the effective administration of the Committee. The Secretary is not a member of the Committee, but attends all meetings. In general, the Secretary is the first point of contact for all enquiries. He can be contacted on 020 7238 5102 or andrew.dodds@defra.gsi.gov.uk.

The Audit and Risk Committee: Terms of Reference (30 KB)

The Management Board receives minutes of Committee meetings. As the ARC operates a policy of openness, it publishes minutes and papers on the intranet wherever possible, however the papers may contain information exempt from publication under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
