Consultation on proposals for Scotch Whisky Regulations 2008

At the request of the Scotch whisky industry we are proposing to introduce provisions, through UK legislation, to enhance and safeguard the geographical indication of Scotch whisky.  These provisions are contained in the Scotch Whisky Regulations 2008 annexed to the Scotch Whisky Regulations consultation document.

We are seeking views on these proposals and the Impact Assessment by 25 March 2008.
