Consultation on The Wine Regulations 2008
Defra is consulting on the ‘The Wine Regulations 2008’. These regulations have been produced to implement the first phase of the recent EU wine reform agreement, which will become directly applicable in all Member States from 1 August 2008. The Regulations will cover the principal enactment of the EU regime in terms of control, monitoring and enforcement issues and provide for a deregulatory change removing the need for prior classification of vine varieties for wine production.
Comments are invited by 12 August 2008.
