Consultation on new Regulations and code for Meat Chicken Welfare
Defra has launched a consultation on the draft Welfare of Farmed Animals and Mutilations (Permitted Procedures) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 and associated documentation, including a revised meat chicken welfare code. These Regulations implement Council Directive 2007/43 regarding meat chicken welfare.
The purpose of this consultation is to seek your comments on the draft Statutory Instrument, welfare code and and other associated documentation.
This consultation applies to England only. Separate consultations on similar provisions will be undertaken in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
The deadline for responses to this consultation is 20 April 2009.
