Gender Equality Scheme 2007-2010

The Gender Equality Scheme is a three-year plan running 2007-2010, summarising what Defra will do over the medium term to promote greater equality between men and women and for those who are transsexual.
The Gender Equality Duty came into force in April 2007, and requires all public authorities publish a Gender Equality Scheme. The scheme sets out to:

  • eliminate unlawful discrimination
  • eliminate harassment and sexual harassment
