Departmental report and autumn performance report
Defra Departmental Report 2009 (Cm 7599)
Defra, in line with other government departments, produces an annual report to parliament.
The 2009 report gives an overview of our activities over 2008/09 and looks ahead to what we hope to achieve in the future. The report includes a foreword from Hilary Benn and an executive summary from Permanent Secretary Helen Ghosh, highlighting our key successes over the past year. We also outline our new strategy and report on our progress against our strategic objectives.

Autumn performance report
The Defra 2008 Autumn Performance Report was published on 15 December 2008.
The report is published in late autumn each year as part of our reporting process. It reviews our progress towards achieving our targets since the publication of the departmental report in May.
The 2008 report shows we continue to make good progress in achieving our aims and objectives and are well placed to continue this with our new suite of targets developed as part of the 2007 comprehensive spending review. It also describes our refinements to our priorities and departmental strategic objectives following the creation of DECC.
