Defra has prepared plans to secure business continuity, covering a wide range of scenarios. The plans include arrangements to communicate with those - stakeholders, customers or staff - who may be affected by an incident. The plans are regularly tested.

Defra's web site forms part of those plans. In the event of an incident or problem that significantly affected Defra's business, in whole or in part, this page, along with Defra's Business Continuity helpline number, would be used to convey information and news to Defra staff. Business areas have cascade procedures in place for communicating with colleagues. Information for stakeholders would, as necessary, be provided via the website.
