On 13 July 2011 the European Commission published a package of proposals to reform both the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and its supporting Common Market Organisation (CMO) in fishery and aquaculture products. Some of the changes that have been proposed are potentially far-reaching and could have a significant impact on UK fisheries and the marine environment.

As part of this we launched a consultation on the Commission’s proposals to reform the CFP and the Common Organisation of the Markets (CMO) in fishery and aquaculture products. We received responses from across a range of sectors with respondents generally welcoming the proposals and the Commission’s ambition for reform. The consultation documents, including a summary of responses can be found below.
