Requirements for approval
Any premises may apply for approval to undertake TSE brain stem sampling of fallen adult cattle at their premises. An application can be made on form ABPR12 and returned to your local Animal Health Office.
Three separate requirements must be met;
- Animal By Product requirements of the premises
- Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE) requirements of the premises and procedure
- Evidence of personnel training
Animal Health will be responsible for carrying out risk based inspections of approved sampling sites in order to ensure that they are operating in accordance with their approval.
