How to Apply - Movement Certification
Most CITES specimens may be moved freely within the EU without the need for documents from us. However you may need provide evidence to confirm that they were imported or obtained legally. .Some live Annex A specimens may be prohibited from being moved without permission from the UK CITES Management Authority as they have a ‘movement restriction’. In these cases, you must obtain an Article 10 certificate before you move the specimen from the address indicated on its documentation.
To obtain an Article 10 certificate, you need to complete an application form FED1012 .
Before we can issue a movement certificate we have to be satisfied that the specimen will be suitably accommodated and cared for, and that it will continue to be used for the purposes set out in the original movement restriction. We will therefore need to make an assessment of the new premises and this might include a questionnaire to be completed by the new keeper. Page last modified:03 March 2008
