We work closely with the Chief Veterinary Officer. The Chief Veterinary Officer plays a key role in confirming and reporting animal disease and in shaping and determining European Union law and policy. We also work closely with the Chief Veterinary Officers in Wales and Scotland and with food and farming policy makers in Government.

We work regularly with Local Authorities, the Veterinary Laboratories Agency, the Veterinary Medicines Directorate, the Rural Payments Agency, the Meat Hygiene Service, the Food Standards Agency and the Health Protection Agency. We also work with the international trading community, zoos, the European Commission and the CITES Secretariat, the police and HM Revenue and Customs.

Together we work closely with the food and farming industry to deliver the joined-up service our customers want and to best deliver Government policies in animal health and welfare.
