Bovine Semen Licence, Routine Examination and Inspection Charges

In accordance with regulation 41(3) of the Bovine Semen (England) Regulations 2007 and the Bovine Semen (Scotland) Regulations 2007, the Secretary of State hereby publishes the figures used to calculate fees payable under the aforementioned regulations.

All inspections for centre approvals must be carried out by Animal Health Inspectors.

  • Bovine Animal Approval Licence (Domestic) - £93 per animal
  • Bovine Animal Approval Licence (EC) - £194 per animal under 6 months old
  • Bovine Animal Approval Licence (EC) - £194 per animal over 6 months old kept in a same sex group
  • Bovine Animal Approval Licence (EC) - £320 per animal over 6 months old kept in a mixed sex group

  • EC Quarantine Centre Licence - £236 per centre
  • EC/Domestic Collection Centre Licence - £528 per centre
  • EC/Domestic Storage Centre Licence - £200 per centre

  • Routine Examination of Licensed Animal (Domestic)  - £80 per animal
  • Routine Examination of Licensed Animal (EC) - £158 per animal
  • Routine Examination of Licensed Premises (EC/Domestic) - £60 per centre

All inspections carried out by Animal Health Inspectors will be charged at the following rates per hour per inspector –

  • Animal Health Officer - £45 per hour
  • Veterinary Officer - £73 per hour
