Animal welfare
The animal welfare website is a guide to what Defra is doing to ensure priority
is given to these standards for welfare of animals on-farm, during transport,
at markets and at slaughter.
The independent advisory body Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC), provides advice for Ministers on these issues. Details of Government Responses to the FAWC reports are also available.
