Details required for investigation of complaints at ports / airports
For a timely investigation of any complaint the following information is required.
- Date of complaint
- Full name of complainant
- Full name of pet owner, if different from above
- Species of pet
- Date and time of travel
- Carrier and route
- Ticket number (or Airway Bill (AWB) for pets travelling by air). Most, if not all, Carriers should be able to retrieve travel details from this information.
- Nature of complaint
- Any contact with Animal Health (or other) staff at the time of the incident and if so, with whom and from what office
- Contact details of complainant (in case further information is required)
Whilst we endeavour to investigate all complaints, failure to provide any of the above may delay our investigations or even result in our inability to investigate further.

In some cases, the transport companies carrying your pet under the Pet Travel Scheme may be able to help you. You can search for vets by town or city:
- In the box entitled ‘Quoi, Qui’ type Veterinaire
- In the box entitled ‘Où’ type the required Town
- Then click on the button ‘trouver’
- A list of vets will appear.
You can usually view a location map and sometimes a photo of the premises by clicking on the appropriate buttons. If you want to do a new search, scroll to the foot of the page and amend the search details, then click on the trouver button.
UK microchip manufacturers/suppliers contact details
