Importation of fresh meat from third countries

Purpose

1.  To advise you of a change to the list of third countries from which imports of fresh red meat are permitted, particularly in respect of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

2.  Please see Customer Information Note 2008/131 issued today.

Action for OVSs

3.  Please note the changes to areas from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay from which imports of fresh red meat are permitted.  The revised rules apply to meat from animals slaughtered on or after 1 August 2008.
