Results of testing - special conditions imposed on fishery products imported from Indonesia for human consumption - commission decision 2006/236/EC implemented by declaration under reg 59

This letter is addressed to Border Inspection Posts in England only.

As you know Commission Decision 2006/236/EC requires Member States to test consignments of fishery products from Indonesia for heavy metals and certain specific species for histamine to ensure compliance with EU standards.

Further to previous letters (OVS/2008/26 & OVS/2008/35) we are still waiting for the Commission to confirm whether these restrictions will be amended, and to issue an amendment to the Decision. In the meantime we would be very grateful if you would please send us by Email details of all the testing you have carried out from 1 April 2008 to 30 June 2008. Please use the title “Indonesian Results” in the subject box and send these results by close of play 18 July 2008 to our dedicated Helpline email address at  imported.food@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk.

Please let me know if there will be any difficulty in meeting this request. Thank you for your assistance.
