Imports - OVS Note 08/13

Amendment to the residue list – Decision 2008/105

Purpose

1.         To advise BIPs of the publication of a revised list of third countries with approved residue plans.

Background

2.         Commission Decision 2008/105/EC lays down a  new list of countries with approved residue plans has been agreed by Member States.  The Decision withdraws approval of plans from: Belize (honey); Columbia (milk); Eritrea (all); Israel (farmed game); Kenya (all); Oman (all); Tunisia (farmed game); Ukraine (Equine); South Africa (several – only farmed & wild game remain) and Zimbabwe (bovine). Products may still be imported where plans have been withdrawn providing they were on route before 1 March 08.

3.         New plans have been approved for Belarus (several); Canada (Rabbit); Switzerland (honey, rabbit and game); Ethiopia (honey); Falkland Islands (Bovine); Iran (aquaculture); Mauritius (aquaculture) and Suriname (aquaculture).  The lists for Serbia and Montenegro have been moved to the correct position in the list.

4.         The Decision applies from 1 March 2008.

4.         To note changes to the list
To reject imports dispatched after 1 March 08 where plans have been withdrawn.
