Export of bovine semen and embryos to Turkey

1.         Revised export certification is now available for the export of:

Bovine embryos to Turkey (6513EHC) & Bovine semen collected,  processed and stored before 31 December 2004 to Turkey (6853EHC) & Bovine semen collected, processed and stored on or after 31 December 2004 to Turkey (6183EHC)

2.         Exporters should be aware that:

  • Turkey has lifted its FMD ban on the UK; however, there is still a bluetongue ban in place on England only and a BSE ban on the entire EU.
  • Exporters need to take particular note of the updates to the ‘Scope of certificate’ paragraph of the notes fir guidance.
  • The notes for guidance have been amended to clarify what commodities are acceptable for export to Turkey and what parts of the UK are eligible to source them from.

3.         Should exporters require a specimen copy of the export health certificate and the notes for guidance or other associated documents, they should contact their local Animal Health Office.
