Movements of bluetongue susceptible animals to Northern Ireland
Purpose
1. The purpose of this Customer Information Note is to advise you that the bluetongue related import controls imposed by Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) of Northern Ireland have been extended to 13 March 2008.
Background
2. Customer Information Note GEN/08/43 advised of the controls on imports of female cattle over 12 months old and female sheep over 6 months old into Northern Ireland from Bluetongue restricted zones. These controls applied from 1800 hours on 1 March 2008.
3. The initial announcement from Northern Ireland indicated that these controls were being imposed for a limited period up to 06 March 2008. They have now extended these controls to 13 March 2008.
