The export restrictions (Foot and Mouth Disease) Regulations 2007

The Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) Regulations 2007 which apply in England, revoke and replace the Export and Movement Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No 2) Regulations 2007.  They implement the latest amendment to Commission Decision 2007/554/EC concerning certain protection measures against foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom.  A copy of the Regulations which came into force at 6.30 pm yesterday, Thursday 13 December are being posted on the website.

The latest amendment means that export restrictions from the whole of GB (including those that are defined in the Annex to the Decision) have been lifted on:

  • Meat and meat products;
  • Milk and dairy products;
  • Hides and skins; and
  • Other animal products.

Exports of live animals and genetic material will be permitted from the parts of GB.  Restrictions will remain in place for animals and genetic material origination in the restricted area (Annex II of the Decision).  Further information is available on our website:
