International trade

In order to maintain Great Britain’s animal and public health status, the Government has put in place various measures designed to ensure that imported animals and products of animal origin do not present unacceptable risks to the health of other animals or to people. The Government also has an important role in ensuring that businesses and individuals are able to export animals and products by providing health guarantees to importing countries, normally by way of export health certification.

Information on the latest developments in International trade are issued to traders as Customer Information Notes and Importer Information Notes.
